It's hard to believe, but our Immersion Weekend is almost is almost here! I'm looking forward to the presentations from our four terrific presenters and to spending time with old colleagues and meeting some new ones. We have a total of 50 participants this year, including the four presenters. It is a nice mix of teachers with years of experience, newer teachers, a few college students and two Goethe Institut interns! It's sure to be a great weekend that's both fun and full of learning and inspiration for our teaching.
I've attached a letter that covers much of the information below; please read that. Here are some highlights:
Directions to Wonderland Camp can be found via the website: www.wonderlandcamp.com Under the Contact Us menu at the top right-hand side is a link to directions.
Arrival: We'll have official arrival and registration between 4-6 p.m.(no problem if you arrive later, though you might miss out on some of the activities). After that we'll have dinner (not in the cafeteria, but rather sandwiches, chips, drinks, etc. in the main room of the lodge). After that we'll have some get-to-know-each-other activities and an introduction to the weekend's sessions.
What to bring:
A laptop. The Camp has wireless connection; and for this year's topic you'll find it useful to work from your own computer.
Warm clothes; who knows what the weather will be like. Last year we had a snowstorm!
Meals:
We'll have four meals in the Camp's cafeteria (breakfast, lunch and dinner on Saturday; and breakfast on Sunday. Although we won't have lunch in the cafeteria on Sunday (logistically it is tricky, since many people leave before lunch is served), we'll send you away with something light to eat before you depart.
The following people have let me know about dietary restrictions and/or allergies. If you have a dietary restriction but you're not listed here, please let me know ASAP: Angela and Matt S.; Anna H.; Craig K.; Karin D-H; Hollie S.; Sarah W.; Ninja N.
If you have a dietary restriction and want to bring some of your own food items, the Camp can refrigerate them for you (the director asks that you clearly label any personal food you bring).
Please let me know if you have any questions!Schöne GrüßeAnne
